The people behind DEVOKE

We are a small family business, and we are passionate about creating unique and high quality pieces. Growing up in a small town in Germany, we've always been connected to nature and the environment. We started DEVOKE in 2019 in California because we want to make a difference in the Fashion Industry. Our mission is to create pieces through a transparent supply chain that are high quality, unique, and last for years to come.

Meike, our Designer and part of the family, carefully makes every piece to order at our Studio in California.

Julia, our Co-Founder and Marketing Director is spreading the word about Slow Fashion and our mission here at DEVOKE.

Sustainability and Slow Fashion

We care about people and we care about the environment. 

The fashion industry is lead by mass production and seasonal trends. We don't want to be part of that. All our items are only made to order to avoid over production and to reduce waste. Our designs don't follow trends, but are our own creations and are of highest quality materials so you can keep them for more than just one season, but for years to come. We keep our supply chain fully transparent from start to finish. Our fabric is carefully sourced from American and European manufacturers to ensure responsible labor conditions for fabric makers. We mainly use overstock fabric that has already been produced for other larger Designers, who are not able to use the fabric for other collections due to their business models which says they can only sell a specific amount of pieces of the same fabric per collection. This allows us to use fabric that already exists, that otherwise would be trashed or burned. 

Our goal is to shift the mentality of clothing being seasonal. We don't follow trends because Fashion is about your unique style, not what the industry decides you should wear. We want everyone to express themselves through their own style, and to be able to wear their pieces in whatever way they want, for however long they want.

There are no rules to this except for one - be your authentic self!

We believe that each and every one of us is unique in who we are. Our experiences, our memories, our beliefs and thoughts. Our differences make this beautiful world. We believe we should be seen as who we are at heart. Because you are more than what others see. 
 
We want to evoke those feelings and memories to remind you who you really are and want to be. You are more than what others see and we should all be able to express ourselves freely. Because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world. We encourage you to express yourself and to see others for who they really are. 

When you wear Devoke, you are not just wearing a brand or design, you are wearing your confidence, your vibe, your energy. You are expressing yourself.
